Evans-Bossert University is committed to developing excellence amongst students through a liberal arts education, a core curriculum, and dedication to global experiential learning opportunties. Students choose from 25 majors and 33 minors that integrate theory and practical experiences to shape and guide the intellectual growth, learning, and cognitive development of students as they become social and political leaders. Experiential educational opportunities in study abroad, service learning, internships and undergraduate research, as well as learning communities and residential hall learning programs are central to a full EBU learning experience.
The EBU student academic experience is marked by the intense commitment and collaboration between faculty members to provide the best holistic educational experience possible. Professors actively invite students to collaborate on the research interests and professional projects of the faculty, recognizing that educational experiences are critical components to leadership development. [1] Courses are almost exclusively discussion-based, with faculty recognizing the significance of self-directed learning and the ability to critically and effectively challenge peers. Thus, faculty members serve as authorities in their given subjects and courses, but encourage the refelective and cognitive development of students in making-meaning of their academic work, combining the knowledge and skills of their academic and practical experiences in their education.
Evans-Bossert University courses offer an 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio, with a median class size of 18 students. Courses are taught by world-class scholars, current and former political leaders, and business leaders with experience working in organizations worldwide. As a result, courses are available on topics that span the globe, delve deeply into the realms of art, culture, and history, and prepare students for the issues of the future through contemporary examples and experiences. Through mentoring, advising, and small classes, you’ll get to know your professors as individuals who care about you and your goals. Students negotiate the array of academic offerings with the help of an extensive advising system that is offered through academic departments and in residence halls, and that addresses student concerns from the most routine administrative questions to questions about shaping academic programs that are right for an individual student's needs. Ultimately, our goal is to provide students with a rewarding four years of intellectual and personal growth, coupled with hard work and commitment by students themselves, that helps them develop a rewarding and meaningful life so as to make a positive difference in the world.
